Through the arches
On a steep hill above the picturesque village of Llangollen in North Wales you'll find the remains of the medieval fortress Castell Dinas Bran, translated as the 'Crows Fortress'. This hilltop ruin stands isolated and exposed to the elements, winds whistle through the forgotten arches as they whisper secrets. There is little shelter from either sun or rain amongst the granite, and yet it is a peaceful place with 360 views of stunning hillsides, flora and fauna. It holds a special place in my heart as it's where I took my wife on our first date.
