The Gate to Cwm Idwal

This beautiful wrought iron gate provides a dramatic man-made focal point amongst the drama of the Snowdonia mountain range, textures of rocky footpaths and dry stone walls surrounded by nature. The gate was designed by Joseph Samual Roberts and made by local blacksmith artist – Dylan Parry. It was dedicated to Evan Roberts a self taught expert in the Snowdonia flora who sadly became blind. The gate was designed to represents the profile of the landscape, and mimics the mountain range so that the blind can run their hands on it and get a better perspective of where they are.
