Lone Tree, Llyn Padarn
Possibly one of the best known trees in the UK, this lone tree can be quite easily found through the trees that surround the northern end of Llyn Padarn, at the end of the car park. Many people have visited it, and there is even a bench close to it, so the viewer can sit and take in this view that I've drawn here in pen and ink. This hardy little tree is firmly anchored by its' roots that twist around and amongst the lumps of slate rock that form the bed of the Llyn. Part of Dinorwig quarry can be seen to the left, and the tower of Dolbadarn to the right, with the foothills of yr Wyddfa perfectly framing your view. You can almost hear the red dragons calls ringing out.
