Hardy hillside above Barmouth

On a winter hike in the hills above Barmouth in North Wales I came across the view of these two lonely wind-bent Hawthorn trees. The dry-stone wall does little to shelter the trees from the impact of the brutal coastal winds. The wall provides a perfect balance leading the eye into the distance over the hill as it snakes across the grasslands and heathers out of sight.
